Home furnishing retailer IKEA is ready to enter the gaming space, with a partnership with ASUS’ Republic Of Gamers (ROG) brand. The new IKEA and ROG Gaming Range features furniture fit for a gamer, but with a more subtle look.
“With the launch of the IKEA Gaming range marks our first foray into the gaming world, offering modern, functional and affordable end-to-end solutions for all gamers to enjoy,” said Gerard Jansen, Country Retail Director (Malaysia) IKEA Southeast Asia.
For now, the IKEA and ROG Gaming Range is mainly focusing on gaming desks and chairs with a few accessories. There is a decent range of selection (and pricing), however. The range includes five product families: the UPPSPEL, LÅNESPELARE, MATCHSPEL, UTESPELARE and HUVUDSPELARE.
The LÅNESPELARE family is the one jointly designed by both IKEA and ROG. It’s the accessories range featuring mugs, and assorted accessory stands.
The rest of the range is developed by IKEA, with input by ROG providing the Swedish brand insights and knowledge of the gamers demographic.

The UPPSPEL gaming desk is the most expensive one, for a good reason. It’s also a standing desk, which usually goes around that price range. Plus it also has a USB port.
For in-store purchases, customers are allowed to purchase 2 units of gaming furniture and 3 units of gaming accessories.
There’s also a promo for IKEA Family members. Any in-store purchase from November 11-13 will be entitled to redeem a limited-edition ROG t-shirt with a minimum in-store purchase of RM500 in a single receipt transaction (limited to the first 100 members).
