Hyper Scape To Shut Down This April

Another round of Ubisoft doing spring cleaning. Not long after announcing there will be no more new updates to Watch Dogs Legion, the publisher has announced that they will be shutting down their free-to-play battle royale game, Hyper Scape.

The game will shut down on April 28.

“We set out to create a vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced shooter experience and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey,” the blog post announcing the upcoming closure of servers. “We will be taking key learnings from this game into future products.”

The last major update to Hyper Scape that warrant a blog post on the site was in April 2021. Hyper Scape was first revealed back in July 2020, launched in full in August of the same year and had three seasons of battle passes.

Ubisoft tends to have ridiculously long tails for its games, but it seems their latest releases could not replicate the staying power of titles like Rainbow Six Siege or For Honor, both having more than 5 years of post-launch support.
