Huawei has launched their new flagship phones for the Malaysia market during today’s premier launch of both the Huawei P50 Pro and their newest variation, the P50 Pocket flip-phone.
Power by the new Snapdragon 888 4G CPU, promises to be the most powerful of the series, within both Pro and Pocket editions that users can pre-order starting today. It also includes their new 6.6 inches AMOLED screen for the P50 Pro and 6.9 Inches OLED FHD for the P50 Pocket, with both rocking a sold 165Hz screen refresh-rate, a battery life of 4000 to 4360 and 8 to 12 GB of RAM respectively.
For the P50 Pro, it’s quad camera is their biggest selling attraction. It’s made out of three lens and one sensor with a variety of megapixels between each lens and sole sensor, one of which is a 64MP Telephoto camera lens which can go up to 100x digital zoom. It’s available to preorder now at the retail price of RM4,199, which will include the addition of a Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro as a bonus.
Then we have the compact P50 Pocket. Two variations of the phone will be available to choose from, which is between the Standard white model or the more Premium edition with a textured design in gold tone. It too also includes a triple camera system and a sensor, which brings towards one of it’s interesting characteristic of the Pocket, the ability to use the back camera and see what you are capturing via the small LED panel below the camera notch.
It’s design is also unique, as you can’t really see the screen crease due to their hinge being more noticeable then their rivals. Perhaps this will help turn the tide towards their new users, as both phones have quite of a steep price with the Standard version costing around RM 5,999 and the Premium one will go for RM 7,999. The pre-orders will also include A Huawei Watch 3 as a freebie.
All three models of the Huawei P50s will be available to pre-order at participating authorized retail and online stores, with the P50 Pro model starting today and ends on their launch during 22nd of January. While the P50 Pocket will start their pre-orders on the 22nd as well, and launches officially on February 13.
