Housemarque’s PS5-Exclusive Shooter Returnal Gone Gold

Returnal, the new roguelike-ish shooter by arcade shooter experts Housemarque, has gone gold.

This means the development for the final master has completed, and should be ready for launch on its release date: April 30.

(Well, there were cases where games went gold but then still be delayed– though that’s an exception rather than the norm).

Returnal will see you playing as Selene as she crashlanded in an alien world. Every time she is defeated she restarts her journey again, which is horrifying to her (who wants to be trapped in a time loop where aliens murder you every time?). But in video game terms, this sets up for a roguelike structure to the shooter.

Returnal launches on April 30 exclusively for the PS5.
