Another big Hitman update is coming your way. IO Interactive will release a Game Of The Year edition of the game. Not only will this include the all of the first season content but it will also add a brand-new single-player campaign called Patient Zero.
The Patient Zero campaign is an additional four missions taking place in Bangkok, Sapienza, Colorado and Hokkaido- locations previously featured in Season 1. It’s not the Season 2 content that most might hoped for, but this is still a big new addition as the maps are reworked with “new gameplay opportunities, disguises, characters, challenges, gameplay mechanics, AI behaviour and HUD elements.”
New outfits and weapons will be added as well as all-new Escalation missions themed around them.
The Game Of The Year Edition will be sold both on disc and digitally on November 7 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One. For those that already owned Hitman, all the new content comes as DLC for $20 USD. A free update will also be available which will change the UI, new lighting improvements and the re-activation of Elusive Targets, the timed missions that you can only complete once.
Some might feel odd that Hitman is getting another physical release so soon. However, this is the first major content rollout after developers IO Interactive went indie. So hopefully this will get the game some buzz again as well as revenue so the developers could get cracking at what most people want to see: a full second season of content.
