As we are now halfway through the year of 2018, Steam has revealed the top selling games on its distribution platform so far. And as always, it’s fascinating to see which game is still performing right now.
For the top sellers category, Steam has broken down the list into four tiers: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. While Steam has not disclosed how the numbers are broken down and none of the games on the tiers are ordered by rank, but if it made it into the list, it’s been doing very well on the platform.
So here’s the list. Bold are games that is released this year and italics are for free-to-play titles:

As you can see, there are many games that continue to sell long after release, possibly benefited from the Steam Sales. Strategy games like Civilization and the newly-released Jurassic Park Evolution, more obscure or complex titles such as Factorio and Euro Truck Simulator 2 plus all the output from Paradox Interactive are scattered throughout the list.
Japanese games also have a strong presence- from Dragon Ball FighterZ to Final Fantasy XII, these new releases certainly have an audience on Steam. Indies and Early Access games- either just entered or just left the program- also have some that made it big.
There is also a list of top selling new releases each month, which highlights some other breakout hits that may not have sold large enough volume to be in the main list but still proved to sell well in its initial release window. Games such as Genital Jousting and Metal Gear Survive managed to reach that list.
