Here’s The First Gameplay Trailer For Ruined King: A League of Legends Story

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story gets a new trailer debuted at The Game Awards 2020. And this time, there’s actual gameplay.

Ruined King is the first of many League Of Legends game that’s not a MOBA but fleshes out the world of Runeterra in different game genres and by different developers, published by Riot Forge.

From the gameplay trailer of Ruined King, if you’ve played a game by Airship Syndicate before, you’ll be right at home. You explore the world from a top-down perspective. Expect to see secrets, traps, puzzles and monsters as you traverse through the world.

The accompanying deep dive blog post also reveals that each champion (playable characters) have two Dungeon Skills used to interact with the world outside of combat.

During combat, it’s a turn-based affair, like an RPG, and uses lanes as a mechanic. You can cast lane, instant and ultimate abilities as well as use items and trigger passive abilities. Each champion has RPG-style stats- over 12 of them, which will grow as they level up.

There’s also equipable gear (weapons will change visually), bounty board hunts, side quests, a battle arena, and most importantly: fishing. Now Ruined King is a proper RPG.

Ruined King: A League Of Legends Story will be out in 2021 for consoles and PC.
