Paralives is aiming to be a life simulation game similar to The Sims, but with its own flair made by an indie team of developers.
The game did make a showing with a snippet of house-building gameplay back in the Wholesome Direct during the E3 2021 period. But you might, like us, missed that there are a whole ten more minutes of where that gameplay snippet came from.
The full trailer is 11-minutes long and goes in length to demonstrate how robust the building and decorating tools are in Paralives. Not having the same constraints like The Sims is pretty liberating, as it looks here. Square tile lengths are just suggestions, making irregular wall shapes is simple, various objects from windows to tables can have their size manipulated. Also, full access to the colour wheel.
Also, also, modular sofas.
For players that really just want to make beautiful dollhouses with various decorations and knick-knacks on display, Paralives’ house building tools look to be very fulfilling in that department. Though we still need to see how well the irregular shapes of objects interact with gameplay.
Paralives is being developed primarily by Alex Massé (with a team of contributors) and is funded via Patreon. There’s no release date for the game for now, though it’s coming to PC via Steam.
