Hardcore Server, Presets UI Rework And More Coming To Black Desert

Developer Pearl Abyss released a video sharing what’s coming to the still ongoing MMORPG, Black Desert. There’s still more content coming in, and should appease the hardcore veterans that are still playing.

Speaking of, there will be a new Hardcore Server coming to Black Desert.

The server only allows players to play only 2 hours a day, so you have to make every second count by hunting monsters and mow down enemies in battles. Players need to create a dedicated character for Hardcore Server, and despite the limited playtime, the servers themselves are open 24 hours a day.

The Hardcore Server has month-long seasons, the first season to kick off on March 13.

Later in March, Black Desert will conclude the Atoraxxion storyline with one new story chapter releasing on March 20. This will be the “first chapter of Black Desert’s story finale”.

The story chapter will include illustrated cutscenes and full dubbed voice acting.

And lastly, Pearl Abyss confirms the team is working on a “All-In-One Preset” system. As it stands, the Preset system is spread across too many different menus, so an effort is being made to redesign the UI to make more usable. Also, this UI rework will later allow presets linking to specific content. So that switching presets (loadouts of high-end gear) as you jump between the different content of Black Desert should be less of a hassle.

However, there is no release window for this reworked preset menu at the moment.

Other features mentioned in the developer update video includes:

  • Mileage Shop revamp in the works
  • New cosmetic outfits: Medeia, Sunny Breeze (for all female classes except Shai)
  • Lil’ Papu Carrier cosmetic (carry an adorable Papu on your character’s back)
  • Weapon effect colour customisation feature cancelled

Black Desert is available on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
