Given that developers Polyphony Digital is full steam ahead in developing Gran Turismo 7, it’s a surprise to see Gran Turismo Sport is getting another rare content update.
But don’t expect much from the July 2021 update (Update 1.66), it’s only adding one car.
The car is the 2021 Toyota GR 86. This is the second generation of the Toyota 86 and just like the first-gen model, is developed together with the Subaru BRZ. The new generation sports a refreshed look as well as a bigger engine.
The Gran Turismo series has a close partnership with Toyota, and has featured the other two Gazoo Racing series cars, the Toyota GR Supra and the Toyota GR Yaris. There will be a Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup 2021 tournament utilising all three GR-badged Toyotas, which explains this rare content addition.
