Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.11 Adds More Events, More Rewards And Other Fixes

Gran Turismo 7 has released update 1.11, this time which saw no server maintenance issues and should be a step in the right direction after the big backlash over its overly grindy economy.

First off, there are a few more race events and missions being added with this update. Three race events in the World Circuits and their maximum credit reward not accounting clean race bonus are the following:

  • World Touring Car 600 Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise (550,000 credits)
  • World Touring Car 700 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit (550,000 credits)
  • World Touring Car 800 Sardegna Road Track A 485 (485,000 credits)

From the screenshots here, you can see that the new events provide a huge jump in credit rewards. It still requires some grinding to purchase the rare 20,000,000 car that appears in the Legend Cars shop, but not at an absurd amount as it was previously.

There is also a new Mission category, dubbed “The Human Comedy” (all the Mission chapters are named after novels) features 8 1-hour endurance races, with rewards up to 1.2 million credits per event. You need to reach Collector’s Level 23 to unlock it.

In addition, the update notes also revealed that arcade races and custom races have their reward payouts adjusted. The new races added to this update are still the better way to grind for credits, but the credit rewards have indeed seen an increment.

Circuit Experience will also confer bonuses for completing the whole set of challenges per track. If you gain all Bronze or all Gold trophies, enter and exit the tracks to gain some credits reward.

Also, the maximum credits you can have at one time are now bumped to 100 million, from the 20 million before.

The update shows developers Polyphony Digital is making the steps to address issues pertaining to its live service offering. While the core gameplay – and completing the main campaign – is great fun, its post-game offering leaves a lot to be desired. The addition of more races with better credit payouts should alleviate some of the concerns GT7 fans have with the racing game.

Update 1.11 also addresses some bugs and fixes some of its physics, in particular when dirt racing. The full patch notes can be found here. The 1.078GB sized update is now live.
