Gran Turismo 7 June 2023 Update Adds Three New Cars Including The Aston Martin Valkyrie

Polyphony Digital continues its monthly cadence of adding at least three new cars into Gran Turismo 7 each month. And for June 2023, that streak continues with Update 1.35.

The update should arrive later today, June 29, after a period of server maintenance.

It’s another month with no new track (could’ve been the perfect time to add Pikes Peak just as the event for 2023, which Gran Turismo is a major sponsor of, recently wrapped up this week). But we got three new cars, with the Aston Martin Valkyrie leading the charge.

Designed by aerodynamic genius Adrian Newey, the Aston Martin Valkyrie is one of the remnants of when the British brand was partnering with the Red Bull F1 team before new management decided to have an F1 team of their own (and abandoned plans to enter the World Endurance Championship’s upcoming at the time Hypercar class). The hypercar sounds beastly with that growl from its V12 engine, you can hear a bit of it in the trailer.

If you’re not a fan of overengineered madness, the other two are more sensible additions to GT7. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR, the Evo III for short, and the Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi, or as Subie enthusiasts would refer to as the “blobeye” WRX, joins the car list, and the existing family of Lancer Evos and Impreza WRXs.

Gran Turismo 7 June 2023 Update New Cars

  • Aston Martin Valkyrie ’21 – Brand Central
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR ’95 – Used Cars
  • Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi ’04 – Brand Central, Used Cars

Two Extra Menus are added to the Cafe, which require you to only collect three select Subaru WRXs and Lancer Evos for a reward and a nice history lesson about these legendary rally-derived cars.

Another neat addition is a new livery for the Lexus RC F GT3 ’17 racecar. The ANEST IWATA Racing livery, which competes in this year’s Super GT championship, has Igor Fraga as one of its drivers. Fraga still competes in the Gran Turismo World Series, in which he won the Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup previously, alongside his real-life racing endeavours.

Gran Turismo 7 June 2023 Update – New Music Rally Events

Six new events have been added to Music Rally, and the first real addition since the game’s launch. These are fun little mini-games where you overtake cars during the duration of a song, and one of modes available when servers are offline.

The Life’s Coming In Slow event should be a fun one, it’s a good driving song. And who doesn’t want to race while the GT anthem, Moon Over The Castle, plays?

  • Good Old Days (Classixx Remix)
  • DRIFT
  • Marechià (With Célia Kameni)
  • Hooked on America
  • Lifeʼs Coming In Slow
  • Moon Over the Castle GT7 version

Lastly, two new sets of scenes are available in Scenes, the photo mode: Monterey and Field Of Flowers.

There are also new races in Circuit Experience, as well as new engine swaps.

Full patch notes can be found here.

Last month saw the addition of purchasable engine swaps, alongside the regular addition of three new cars.
