Gran Turismo 7 January 2024 Update Adds Three New Cars

It’s been a good month since a new Gran Turismo 7 content update has arrived, but here it is, the first one of 2024. And the first since the big Spec II update back in November.

And we’re back to the usual three-car cadence, with some new events on the side.

Gran Turismo 7 January 2024 Update New Cars

Update 1.42 brings three new cars to GT7, two previously announced are Vision GT creations.

The Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo is another long swooping grand tourer like a good number of VGT cars are.

The Bulgari (stylised as “BVLGARI”) Aluminium Vision Gran Turismo one is interesting not only because it’s a car designed by a luxury brand that don’t make cars, but it’s also won’t be available immediately once the update goes live. Rather, the car will be distributed to those who purchased the Bulgari Aluminum Gran Turismo Limited Model watch that costs $4,800 USD (around RM22,700) via a Car Ticket, and the official release of the car will be sometime in February.

GT7 has previously done similar offers where you can unlock a car early, either through watching the GT World Series esports broadcasts or by participating in online competitions. This is the first time a price tag is included for these early access offers. At more than RM20K at that.

The real star of the update is the latest incarnation of the Suzuki Jimny. The relatively small but sharp-looking off-roader should be fun to drive on rally tracks.

With this update, the total cars in Gran Turismo 7 has bumped to 491 cars.

  • BVLGARI Aluminium Vision Gran Turismo – ??? (Only available from Car Ticket until February 2024)
  • Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept – Brand Central
  • Suzuki Jimny XC ’18 – Brand Central

Update 1.42 also adds two Extra Menus (collection objectives where you require to collect three specific cars for each menu), a new event (Jimny Cup) and five new race events.

Two new Scapes (photo mode) curations are also added.

There’s also new engine swaps.

All in all, it’s the usual small update. The update is now live, with the full updates note found here.

GT7 is available on PS4 and PS5. Check out our review here.
