Gold Gold Adventure Gold Is A “Reverse-RPG” Where You Build A City To Attract RPG Adventurers

Here’s a fun game name by an equally fun game developer moniker. Gold Gold Adventure Gold by Can Can Can A Man is an upcoming “reverse RPG” that’s technically a city builder/colony sim.

Your task in this game is to make an outpost around a dungeon, but with no money to hire a standing army. So now you have to rely on gig workers, i.e. brave adventurers on a quest for gold and glory, for protection. And that’s the game, how can you can continue to entice adventurers to take on quests and keep the outpost-turn-city safe?

If you feel Gold Gold Adventure Gold is a mouthful of a title, don’t worry. Can Can Can A Man figured that out: the trailer has a catchy tune where the title is uttered repeatedly.

The adventurers you can recruit come in many walks of life, including some that aren’t even alive. Humans, beastmen, mothmen and even the undead are willing to go and do quests, if the rewards are good enough. And that’s your part: post quests. The “reverse-RPG” bit.

But Gold Gold Adventure Gold isn’t just about hiring merry men and women to risk their lives dungeon-crawling. You can also entice farmers to work the land for a more traditional economy. But whether that be farmers or adventurers, you better remember to collect the taxes to fund your city building projects. It’s all about gold, gold, adventure and gold, this game.

And if that’s not enough, you can also raise a pet Go-Beast. Teach them what’s okay and what’s not okay to do. Pet it. Discipline it. Yes, it’s very Black & White.

Also, it looks nice. The 3D world has a slight curvature to it, and characters are all in 2D hand-drawn sprites.

Gold Gold Adventure Gold is expected to release sometime in Q2 2025 on PC (Steam).
