God Of War On PS5 Can Run At 60fps, Saves From PS4 Transferable

Boy! There’s a good reason to go revisit the 2018 soft-reboot/hard-sequel God Of War once you have a PS5.

Sony Santa Monica Studio has confirmed that God Of War on PS5 can hit 60fps when switched to “favour performance” mode. On PS4 Pro, the performance mode runs at unlocked framerate. So it’s safe to assume that the PS5 is more than capable of hitting the gaming gold standard 60fps mark.

(If you prefer 30fps, that’s fine too. While not explicitly specified, you can expect the “favour quality” option to still be there.)

Also, if you have saves on PS4, those are transferable to PS5. Given that not all PS4 games can transfer saves to PS5, this is nice to know. Also, God Of War III Remastered’s saves will also transfer from PS4 to PS5.

God Of War will be part of the PS Plus Collection– a collection of 20 PS4 games only playable to active PS Plus subscribers with a PS5. So there’s a lot of chances where you can totally check the 2018 game if you haven’t before. It’s not the hack-and-slash character action game of before, but it’s still an impressive one.

A new God Of War game was teased, coming in 2021.
