Revealed during the Opening Night Live 2025 showcase, Sucker Punch’s upcoming open world romp Ghost of Yōtei will be getting a multiplayer co-op mode.
Similar to Ghost Of Tsushima Legends, Ghost of Yōtei Legends as it is dubbed will be added to the game as free DLC post-launch, sometime in 2026.
As per PlayStation Blog, Ghost of Yōtei Legends will feature two-player story missions as well as four-player survival matches. Play as four different character classes and fight against “demonic, giant versions of members of the Yōtei Six” as well as new enemies.
The Legends mode has this surreal, fantastical style that greatly differs from the main game. It’s a nice, albeit optional, addition to the latest Ghost game.
Ghost of Yōtei isn’t a direct sequel to Ghost Of Tsushima as it covers a new setting, a new period of time centuries apart from the original, and a new protagonist. Yōtei sees players take on the role of Atsu, who vows vengeances against the Yōtei Six who murdered her entire family. How you do so, and how you navigate the open world, is left open-ended with new slick features that, just like Ghost Of Tsushima, should make exploration fun and not just ticking checkboxes. Though its premise might leave players who’ve played Assassin’s Creed Shadows, a little weary.
Ghost Of Yōtei releases on October 2 for the PS5.
