The first update of Hoyoverse’s free-to-play RPG/gacha game Genshin Impact for 2023 is coming soon.
Version 3.4, “The Exquisite Night Chimes”, will see the addition of a new area within the deserts of Sumeru, two characters becoming playable (if you can get them) as well as various events and rewards.
The Lantern Rite event returns again this year, which will see Liyue shining with lanterns, a music festival and a Paper Theatre performance. Mini-games like Radiant Sparks will be available.
Completing this season’s events and challenges will net you 10 plus 3 Intertwined Fates, a four-star Liyue character, and a new outfit for Lisa. These are all enable and can be claimed for free.
Over in Inazuma, there will be two different competitions. The “Warrior’s Spirit” contest is a sword duel, and there’s a special exhibition match between “a special guest” and Kamisato Ayaka, who will be wearing her brand-new outfit added with this update. The other competition is “Beetle Brawl”.
As for new playable characters, you can get the 5-star sword wielder Alhaitam, and the 4-star character Yaoyao, wielding a polearm. Both are Dendro elemental.
The two new characters, plus Xiao, will be available in the first half of Version 3.4’s Event Wishes banners, while the next half will see reruns for Hu Tao and Yelan.
The new area, Hadrameveth, northwest of the Sumeru region will be added in Version 3.4. The World Quest “Golden Slumber” will see you exploring this area.
Genshin Impact Version 3.4 update drops on January 18. Genshin Impact is available on PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store, standalone client), iOS and Android with full cross-save and cross-play support.
