Free-To-Play Co-Op Action RPG Dauntless To Enter Open Beta Next Month

A promising Monster Hunter competitor

Dauntless will enter open beta in May. The free-to-play co-op action RPG, influenced heavily by Monster Hunter, has been in closed beta for some time, which requires a purchase of the Founders Pack to enter. By next month, the restriction will be lifted for everyone, including the 700,000 players already signed up and register for the game, joining the active  closed beta players now totally more than 100,000 in numbers.

Announced back in The Game Awards 2016, Dauntless has slowly been updated with new content and improvements as it underwent the closed beta. It also removed loot box elements in favour of microtransactions for cosmetics.

With the surprise announcement of Monster Hunter World that will also come to PC later this year, the market for a game with co-op and premise of taking down giant beasts over and over again to craft better gear and weaponry will see some competition pretty soon. If you are interested, you can sign up for the beta here. If you have the cash to spare, you can also buy the Founders Pack and gain instant access to the game right now.

UPDATE 12/4/18: The open beta date has been announced. It will start on May 24th.
