The gift keeps on giving! Ubisoft promised to bring out select titles in their library for free from June to December, with last month offering Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time. For the month of July, the game that rivalled the critically lauded Metal Gear Solid series at its time, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, is now the free game to get for July.
Splinter Cell takes the Tom Clancy brand of realistic and plausible political scenarios found in most military-themed novels, the late Tom Clancy was famous for that genre, and bring out not a shooter game, but a stealth one. Incorporating the use of lights, full movement in 3D environments and unique movesets like the splitjump, Splinter Cell became an important game at its time, bringing more attention to the stealth genre.
So how to claim this free download? The catch here is you need a uPlay account- which you probably have one even if you ever played an Ubi game even if you only played on consoles. Go to the uPlay launcher on PC and click the Ubi30 tab to claim your download. Alternatively, you can visit the link here and log in from there.
The free game giveaway was made in conjunction to Ubisoft’s 30 year anniversary. Check back next month to see what Ubi will offer up next.
