Fortnite Battle Royale Goes Free-To-Play Ahead Of The Main Game
Fortnite is in Early Access currently, but once it’s out next year it will be a free-to-play game. Fortnite also just added its PvP mode in the form of Battle Royale. 100 players on the same map, last man standing wins, like PUBG. But you can craft walls and traps.
While the main game is still in Early Access, it looks like developers Epic felt the Battle Royale mode is ready for everyone and will be releasing it next week for free.
In the announcement, there will only be cosmetics or “compendium-like content” that will come to this mode. No item will be sold that will bring a competitive advantage, as it should.
The main game, a horde mode with a lot of crafting and building mechanics, will still be in Early Access for now. It should be available on PS4 and Xbox One in their respective stores and on PC via Epic’s Game Launcher on September 26.
