Boss Key Productions is now defunct, with their last hail mary, the battle royale Radical Heights, just was not enough to keep the developers running. But apparently, that trademarked name now has a new owner, by way of Squanch Games founded by Justin Roiland.
Redditor itsGerth posted his findings of who currently owns the rights to the Radical Heights name. And it’s by Squanch Games. The trademark was acquired in August 2018 and ratified on May 7th, 2019.
It seems way too random on the outset, but as the PC Gamer report mentioned, Roiland contributed in Boss Key’s other game LawBreakers where he voiced the blitzball in Blitzball mode and are friends with Boss Key founder Cliff Blezenski.
We’ll wait and see if there’s anything substantial coming out of the trademark acquisition. Whether it’s an attempt to revive the battle royale or to use that name for something else, we’ll have to wait and see.
