As part of the Persona 30th anniversary celebration, Atlus is currently making all of the Persona anime series available to stream.
Persona 3 The Movie, Persona 4 The Golden Animation, Persona 5 The Animation (including The Day Breakers and the special two-episode finale) will be available to stream on YouTube.
The catch? It’s limited-time only.
The official uploads of all the Persona anime series are put out in phases, the release schedule and availability are the following:
- Persona 3 The Movie (4 parts, feature length)
- Available until August 31
- Persona 4 The Golden Animation (12 episodes)
- August 18 – September 17
- Persona 5 The Animation, The Day Breakers and Special Two-Episode Finale
- September 15 – October 14
The anime adaptations of Persona 3, 4 and 5 follows close to the plot beats of the main games they are based on, so spoiler warning for associated video games before watching.
For those that have completed the games, the anime adaptations have some extra flourishes unique to them, from proper characterisations of the main protagonist, to extra scenes and subplots.
The Persona anime series have been available for streaming for some time, but if you never got around to it, now’s a good time to binge them all, especially when it’s readily available on a accessible platform like YouTube.
2026 marks 30 years since the first Persona game, titled in English as Revelations: Persona, was released in Japan. While the first two numbered Persona games (or first three Persona games, there were two Persona 2 games) were interesting spins to the Shin Megami Tensei formula, it’s by Persona 3 where the series solidified its identity: high school students in modern Japan that live a normal teenage life but also confronting supernatural forces that threaten their lives in the meantime, through a slick RPG combat and progression, visual novel-style schedule management and stylish presentation.
The next Persona game will be the remake of Persona 4, Persona 4 Revival, set to launch in February. The next mainline Persona game, Persona 6, has also been announced and currently in development.
