Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Coming To PS5, Includes New Episode Featuring Yuffie As DLC

At the February 2021 State Of Play broadcast, it was revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to PS5.

The PS5 release has a new title: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. As explained by FFVII Series Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura, it’s a nod to the Final Fantasy International releases, as well as referring to the word’s literal meaning- a transition (to the next-gen consoles).

The PS5 version will have improved loading times and improved graphical qualities, like new fog effects. The game will also receive two graphical options: Graphics mode (prioritise 4K resolution) and Performance mode (prioritise 60fps). There’s also a new photo mode and new Classic Mode difficulty settings.

For those who own the PS4 version, you will get a free upgrade to the PS5 version featuring all these enhancements.

The Intergrade release does have one extra addition: a new DLC episode featuring Yuffie Kisaragi. Yuffie is a party member from the original Final Fantasy VII, but didn’t appear in Final Fantasy VII Remake- she wasn’t supposed to show up in the main plot just yet.

This DLC episode lets you play her as she joins up with Avalanche soldier Sonon to steal a materia from the Shinra Corporation. This event takes place parallel to Cloud, Barret, Tifa and Aerith’s adventures.

Note that the DLC is included in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. The free next-gen upgrade does not include the Yuffie DLC. You will need to purchase it separately on the day Intergrade releases. The Yuffie DLC is not available on PS4.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be available on June 10 for the PS5, priced at RM299.
