Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo Available Now, Covers The Entirety Of The Bombing Run Intro

Final Fantasy VII Remake now has a demo. Rumoured and leaked a while back, it is now available on the Playstation Store (and yes, that includes PS Store Asia).

The demo covers the entirety of the bombing run intro sequence. From the intro shot that leads to Cloud’s entrance at the train station to escaping the Mako Reactor 1 after the bomb was planted.

We have played an early version of Final Fantasy VII Remake (our impressions here), but this demo is much more recent, and includes more gameplay mechanics and content than what we’ve played. Here’s some that we spotted, other than the obvious increase in length:

  • Cloud and Barret have their unique combat mechanics (stance changing for Cloud, a powerful blast of Overshot for Barret that you can manually charge up)
  • Less reliance on abilities, more powerful moves that requires an ATB bar
  • There are limit breaks
  • Enemies are less bullet sponge-y than we reported back then
  • Classic Mode- a pseudo-turn-based mode for less action-oriented players, is available
  • You get to view the menu, and customise the shortcut mapping for abilities and spells

You can download the demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake here. Downloading the demo before May 11th and you will get an exclusive PS4 theme that will be available on the game’s launch day.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be out on April 10th for the PS4.
