It all leads to this. Ever since Facebook introduced its livestreaming feature, FB Live, we could clearly see that it is slowly building up to compete in the game streaming business.
Blizzard’s Battle.net app was one of the early adopters of having games streamed to your Facebook account. More recently, the social media giant signed an exclusive livestreaming deal with major esports organiser ESL (though not everyone is happy with that).
Now, Facebook has launched its pilot program for gaming creators to stream using FB Live. What entails here is better streaming options (1080p/60fps will be available) and monetisation options.
Facebook is opening registration to any gaming content creator to test drive its new pilot program which can be found here.
