Frontier dropped a big spreadsheet for fans to argue about a few days ago. That’s right, the initial driver ratings for all the real-world drivers featured in F1 Manager 2022 have been revealed.
F1 Manager 2022 will feature not only the 20 official drivers of the season’s F1 teams, but also their official reserve drivers, as well as drivers in the F2 and F3 feeder series.
F1 Manager has more stats breakdown compared to Codemasters’ F1 games, though they all fall under the same umbrella more or less. Drivers are rated for their pace, consistency and racecraft, which are further broken down into more detailed stats. In racecraft, for example, drivers are judged by their ability to defend, overtake and being able to adapt to changing conditions mid-race.
The overall ratings being revealed here sure have sparked some conversation. Some are rated too high, others too low. And most are surprised how low the numbers go when you look at the F3 drivers. It shows that young drivers coming through the ranks will need to get their ratings up higher, which means developing them into a bonafide grand prix winner should be a satisfying journey with how much stat numbers needed to go up.
And it’s also of note that some of the drivers might have a higher rating at the start, but due to age and potential, will be surpassed by the younger, lower-rated drivers as you continue playing through multiple seasons.
On the list, it’s no surprise that seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and defending world champion Max Verstappen are rated the highest at 90, with the lowest of the main drivers being Mick Schumacher at 76.
In F2, Jehan Daruvala is rated the highest at 73 while the current F2 standings leader Felipe Drugovich is at 68.
In F3, Oliver Bearman is rated the highest at 65. The Malaysian driver Nazim Azman is rated at 41, and that’s not even the lowest these numbers can go.
