Esports Now A Official Sport For 2019 SEA Games

Medals now up for grabs.

It has been confirmed by the SEA Games Organizing Committee that esports will be a medal sport at next year’s SEA games in Philippines.

With support from Razer as the official sponsor (who will provide the equipment for the event) it is shaping to be an interesting event that will see six gold medals awarded for three gaming platforms — two for console, two for PC and two for mobile, with Mobile Legends being the first game being announced.

This comes after the non-medal event during this year’s Asian Games in Indonesia and with Malaysia supporting eSports during the latest budget tabled at the Parliament, it’s looks to be smooth sailing for this genre here in Asia.
