The lands of Saiadha is now fully ready to welcome all players, as turn-based 4X strategy game Endless Legend 2 is now out of Early Access, hits 1.0 and is now available on consoles as well as PC.
Developed by re-independent developer Amplitude Studios, players take on the role of one of the six major factions all vying for control of the oceanic paradise that is the planet Saiadha. The planet is slowly crumbling, and as the game continue, the lush oceans get drier and drier, and the stakes get dire and dire.
For the uninitiated, Endless Legend 2 plays in the same veins of Civilization. You explore, expand, exploit and if needed be, exterminate.
Unlike its genre brethren, Endless Legend 2 leans heavily into having asymmetrical factions, so they are skewed much more into a specific playstyle not by just having bigger and smaller bonuses, but complete addition and removal of game mechanics. The 1.0 version features six different factions, at least two are same-same-but-different variety as seen in the original Endless Legend.
On top of that, there are an additional two Rogue Factions, official variants of the existing factions that slightly change the original’s playstyle. Instead of the all-consuming Necrophage, its Rogue Faction variant The Severed Claws are more into subjugation. Instead of the defensive The Kin Of Sheredyn, its Rogue Faction variant The Order Of Zelevas is built more for conquest. You can even create custom factions by adjusting bonuses to your own liking.
Aside from that, Endless Legend 2’s more in-depth city building and hero-based tactical battles also set it apart from the competition.
Amplitude is expect to still roll out updates in the future, but Endless Legend 2 has now reached its expected baseline. So now’s a good time to jump in.
