E3 2018: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Announced

From Software X Activision, feat. Hidetaka Miyazaki

At the Xbox E3 press conference, an unlikely announcement of a new game was made. Teased before at the Game Awards last year, From Software’s latest game is called Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The game is helmed by Hidetaka Miyazaki- the man behind Dark Souls and Bloodborne- and is published by Activision.

Sekiro is described as a action adventure game with RPG elements, and the reveal trailer certainly has a Soulslike vibe to it, but at a faster pace. You play as Sekiro, the one-arm shinobi which his left forearm has the bones exposed with a rope and mechanism attached to it to act as a grappling hook- the horrifying thing we saw at the Game Awards teaser. He is on a path to seek revenge on his master.

Sekiro is billed as a hard game takes place in late 1500s Sengoku Japan, with stealth, swordplay and the grappling hook being core features. It looks like a more elaborate Soulslike game.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be out in early 2019 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
