E3 2018: New Death Stranding Revealed Some Gameplay, New World Class Actresses And More Babies

We learned.. something

Death Stranding sure is… something. Even after three trailers we still not sure about what is even going on on Hideo Kojima’s latest project, a PS4 exclusive.

A new trailer was shown at E3 2018, which is still mindbogglingly confusing, except for the dire fans that decrypt and inspect every frame for theories and leads. Here is the new E3 trailer:

Post-E3, Kojima has now revealed some more details, albeit still very vague, about Death Stranding thanks to a post on Playstation Blog.

Kojima confirmed that the first and last parts of the trailer indeed represent gameplay. Those are the hiking sequences and the ability to put yourself in danger and then get killed.

Kojima described the protagonist, Sam, played by Norman Reedus (pictured above) “is a working man of sorts — a hands-on professional. Someone with a skillset akin to a blue-collar worker” So expect a very non-conventional kind of gameplay, and the jokes about the game being a walking simulator may not be too far off the mark.

The two new actresses revealed were Léa Seydoux and a younger version of Lindsay Wagner as she appeared in her prime, using 3D scan data to recreate her younger self. ” I wasn’t motivated by marketing or sales, ” Kojima said regarding the recruitment of top actors, including Mads Mikkelsen, ” but simply driven by my creative inspiration.

“They’ve joined because they feel the same way, and as a result we’ve all grown closer, connected by our special bond.”

Kojima also mentioned the word “strands” in context to networking, bonds and relationship, a similar theme he once described when Death Stranding was first revealed.

We still don’t know when Death Stranding will be out, but rest assured it is actively in development.
