Dying Light 2 has been really quiet since its big E3 2019 reveal, and delayed its target 2020 release. But it seems like Techland’s follow-up to its open-world parkour game with zombies is really ready for release.
Now titled Dying Light 2 Stay Human, the new gameplay trailer breaks down what you need to know about the sequel.
Largely it remains similar to what we’ve seen last time around- a city (now called The City) with three major factions you can side with, choices that matter and can change the city/factions as well as the same core gameplay from the first Dying Light.
But there are some new improvements. The day-and-night cycle in Dying Light means that zombies spawn much more and can overwhelm you in the night, which means you better haul back to safety. In Dying Light 2, there is an incentive to stay in the night. Nests that are usually filled with zombies in the day are now relatively empty, and you can get rare items should you explore them.
The gameplay trailer also alludes to the new “Stay Human” subtitle. Likely a new mechanic that the developers are just teasing for now.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human is now set for release on December 7, 2021.
