Dragon Quest VII: Fragments Of The Forgotten Past is getting a remake in the form of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, and a demo is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. It will also be available on Steam tomorrow, a day later.
The demo lets you play through the first several hours of the new game ahead of its full release in February. Save file from the demo can be used to continue your journey should you purchase the full game on the same platform.
A save data from the demo will also unlock the unique “Day Off Dress” for Maribel.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined has players play as a young hero and his childhood friends on an adventure. The remake reimagines the charming original artstyle by the late Akira Toriyama by giving it a hand-crafted 3D look with environments looking like dioramas.
While the story, with quests and side quests, remains faithful to the original 2000 game originally released for the PS1, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined adds a bit more flair to the combat system including Moonlighting (use two vocations at a time), new Monster Master vocation and the ability to “Let Loose.”
Square Enix previously released Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake and Dragon Quest I-II HD-2D Remake, the first three games in the series that are also collectively known as the Edrick Trilogy.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined releases on February 5 for the PS5, PC (Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. It will be available on PC (Steam) a day later on February 6.
