Microsoft’s E3 Press Event showed off some gameplay for the new Middle Earth: Shadow of War today.
The game seeks to expand on Shadow Of Mordor’s critically-acclaimed Nemesis system with the new ability to dominate your nemesis’. Beating them within an inch of their life will allow them to be… persuaded… to join your group, allowing you to recruit them for assaults on enemy fortresses. In the video, you’re introduced to Bruz, quite possibly the chattiest orc to be beaten into submission by you.
We also get a glimpse into the fortress assaults in the game- they’ll require you to build a party of dominated foes, presumably to lead forces into the assault. It’s unknown if other orcs will be as customized as Bruz, but either ways, the nemesis system is looking great.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War comes out October 10th, 2017.
