Dirt Rally 2.0 Is Adding Colin McRae’s Iconic Subaru As DLC, Includes New Stages And Challenge Mode

"If in doubt, go flat out"

It all comes full circle.

Dirt Rally 2.0 will be adding the iconic blue and gold Subaru of the late Colin McRae as DLC. This comes in the Colin McRae: Flat Out Pack, available for free for season pass owners, and a separate DLC purchase for everyone else.

Included in the DLC are two new cars: the gold and blue Subaru Impreza S4 Rally, and McRae’s first Subaru drive: the white Subaru Legacy RS.

The DLC also adds a new location. Perth And Kinross, Scotland is described as “the most challenging location in all of DiRT Rally 2.0, a location worthy of Colin’s legend.” Narrow paths with trees on the side are always a rally nightmare, and there’s plenty of those in the 12 stages.

The Flat Out pack also features a scenario mode of 40 challenges dedicated to testing how you can recreate McRae’s greatest triumphs of his career, spanning the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. One example includes winning the New Zealand Rally by 40 seconds overall.

It’s a nice tribute to the 25th anniversary since McRae became rally world champion in 1995, and a nice call back to the Dirt series first entry: Colin McRae Rally, from 1998 which the Subaru was the cover car. The “2.0” in Dirt Rally 2.0 is a nod to the original game’s sequel, which was one of the best rally racing games of its time.

The Colin McRae: Flat Out Pack for Dirt Rally 2.0 will be out on March 24th. Dirt Rally 2.0 is out now on PS4, PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), and Xbox One.
