Almost one month on since launch, Forza Horizon 5 has been a pretty fantastic experience… outside of its pertaining online issues. What many might have assumed to be the usual week one woes, has now been revealed as many prevailing issues in regards to online play.
Various fan feedback, including from content creators have recently voiced out on the many online issues of Forza Horizon 5.
Developers Playground Games have now issued a statement on the state of the game, and acknowledged the issues players have been having. This includes players in a convoy (party) not appearing in the same instance, Horizon Arcade mini-games being dead and not fun to do solo, issues of online leaderboards filled with cheating records and the inability to save a draft version as well as edit a published custom event in Eventlabs.
Today, a new update has arrived for Forza Horizon 5, addressing some of the online issues in the open-world racing game. Convoys are getting some fixes, which should help in addressing players not loading in the right instance, and Horizon Arcade has been tweaked to be more frequent as well as having the points threshold scaled to the number of players participating. Essentially, it’s possible to complete Horizon Arcade events solo now.
Online multiplayer modes, Horizon Open, has also been tweaked in this update. The Goliath race and S2-Class Cross Country race are removed from the pool, and you can change cars after 3 races now instead of waiting after 5 races. The battle royale mode The Eliminator now has random spawn positions for its car drops.
Also, many of the accolades now unlock and remain completed as they should be. If you did the many point-to-point time trial Horizon Festival accolades, those will remain completed unlike before.

As for other miscellaneous additions, two more cars now have working convertible options by pressing the left stick down while idling. The 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder and the 1945 Willys MB Jeep now have this function. The 918 will remove and add its targa roof through a simple fade-to-black transition (in real-life, the roof is manually placed and removed), while the Jeep can move its whole windscreen down.
