Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Goes Free-To-Play, Adds Battle Royale Mode

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has gone free-to-play. The popular competitive FPS is finally free for everyone, but those who has purchased the game still has a big benefit as they are upgraded to Prime Status.

Players with Prime Status only matchmakes with other Prime Status players, so the influx of new players should not affect the quality of matches. Previously paid players also will receive a Loyalty badge. Prime Status also gives early access to Souvenir MP5-SD | Lab Rats and Danger Zone Cases.

Speaking of which, Danger Zone is the new battle royale mode. It is described as “a fast-paced battle royale game mode built on CS:GO’s tactical gameplay where players use their wits, skill, and resources to fight to the finish.”

Danger Zone can be played solo, or a squad of two or three players.

You can download CS:GO free on Steam here. The Prime Status upgrade is available for RM63.
