Civlization VI’s Launch Trailer Features Sean Bean And Glimpses Of The New Theme Song

Sean Bean is the narrator of all the opening texts for each civilization, the tech quotes and also features in the various trailers of the game. But the question remains: will he survive the full trailer?

If you bought Civilization VI already, the game is now available to pre-load to prepare you for the October 21 launch, which is days away. To commemorate that, Firaxis released the launch trailer.

Check the trailer out to find out if Sean Bean is alive:

Silly jokes of Sean Bean dying onscreen aside, the launch trailer has the much anticipated theme song for Civilization VI. At least a version of it being played. The song is called Sogno di Volare (roughly means “Dream Of Flight”) by Christopher Tin, who composed the Grammy-winning Baba Yetu, the theme for Civilization IV.

Throughout the trailer you can see imagery of flight as the ages past, from studying maps, birds flying around The Colossus, fireworks, the flying Hussar (the cavalry with wings), the first flight by the Wright Brothers, the Battle of Britain and lastly, launching into space. Fitting for the song, as it both plays on the literal dream of flight and humanity’s urge to reach greatness.

Hopefully this iteration of Civ can last the test of time.
