After revisiting the past and delving into the future, we’re now heading back to the modern times as Infinity Ward and Activision has showcase the first trailer for their next installment of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, and it’s quite a eerie sight.
This new game trailer showcase South Korea being attacked by North Korea in a bid to launch a full-scale invasion that threatens to destabilize the world, while on the side of the globe, disavowed Task Force 141 leader Captain Price is on his personal war within the shadows as he ends up fighting his former teammate, Ghost, towards the end of the trailer.
This new iteration of the series marks the first game that not only won’t be releasing for the previous generation of consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One, but also the first game that will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 console, as part of their deal Microsoft did for the ACTV purchase. The Switch 2 version is developed in partnership with Digital Legends, who previous worked on COD Warzone Mobile before that game’s end of service last month.
New features includes the removal of Bloom and better recoil handling for the gunplay, a new movement system that emphases on fluidity, a new Multiplayer mode called Kill Block where the map dynamically change between rounds and the return of their quite popular extraction mode, DMZ.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 6 is set to launch on October 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series Consoles, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Xbox, Battle.net and Steam.
