Apico is a new game all about beekeeping. Developed by TNgineers and published by Whitethorn Games, tasks you with running your own apiary on the titular island of Apico.
The island used to be buzzing with bees of all kinds, but like in real-life their numbers have dwindled. So you’re not out here just hoping to squeeze some honey out of them, you’ll need to repopulate the bees by finding lost species and cross-breeding them, as well as releasing some of them back into the wild.
You still can collect honey and sell them for money. And there are other materials to collect too which can later be used in crafting tools. There are also various mini-games involved when you’re doing your beekeeping duties.
Apico supports cross-play between all the platforms it’s releasing on PC, you can play co-op with up to 4 players.
If you like chill, relaxing games that involve activities in the outdoors that appeal to cottagecore fans, like Stardew Valley, then Apico is worth a look. Sales from Apico will also be donated to various charities supporting bee conservation.
Apico is out now on PC ( Steam, itch.io, GameJolt, the Epic Games Store, Utomik, and Humble Store) with a release on consoles planned.
