2K have revealed more content is coming to Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 4 with the Bounty Pack 2 releasing later this February.
Bounty Packs are “bite-sized-yet-flavourful narrative content” that’s basically a mini-campaign, as opposed to the bigger-sized expansions the Borderlands series regular has for DLC.
Titled Legend Of The Stone Demon, this Bounty Pack (the first to be paid DLC- the first Bounty Pack was released as a freebie to all players) adds a new mission, new Legendary tier loot, a themed Vault Card featuring 24 cosmetics and 4 “rerollable pieces of gear unlocked through gameplay.”
No footage or info about the story of Legend Of The Stone Demon at the moment, but expect them to drop closer to release. The pack comes out on February 26.
If you’re not willing to pay more, Borderlands 4 will release a free update alongside the DLC drop. This update will bring back the Pearlescent rarity tier of loot, one above the gold-coloured Legendary tier currently. Some of the new Pearlscents are only dropped within Bounty Pack 2, but there will be some available to chase for within the base game.
With Bounty Pack 2 dropping this month, we can now expect the previously revealed Story Pack (expansion) Mad Ellie And The Vault Of The Damned, which will be adding a new zone in the map of Kairos, new main and side missions, new loot and cosmetics, the return of Ellie as well as the introduction of a new playable Vault Hunter, C4SH, is now set to release some time in March.
Things have gone pretty quiet in the Borderlands as of late, with the last big content drop was that freebie Bounty Pack at the tail end of last year as part of the holidays. There hasn’t been any inkling of news throughout January. But this should keep Borderlands 4 fans busy again in the next two months.
Borderlands 4 is out now on PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X|S.
