Pearl Abyss announced it has added a new mini-game to its MMORPG Black Desert. Called “Yar!” (with an exclamation mark), this is a card game that can be played against other players, or against designated NPCs.
In a game of “Yar!”, you need to commit to a hand of five cards yielding the highest points total. It’s sort of like poker, but with a different deck of cards, no gambling component, and various name changes for its poker hands.
Some of the NPCs you can challenge to the card mini-game includes NPCs found around the starter town of Veila, which includes General Goods Vendor Eileen, Fish Vendor Crio, and Innkeeper Islin Bartali.

In addition, Pearl Abyss also announced the return of the annual CalpheON Ball, coming to both PC and consoles edition of the game.
This is an online event that includes “a full program of entertainment and community activities” as well as new content announcements. It will be live-streamed on Pearl Abyss’ Twitch And YouTube channels on December 11.
