Black Desert Adds Olvia Academy To Help New Players Get Up To Speed

Black Desert, the long-running MMORPG by Pearl Abyss, has added the new Olvia Academy to serve as a new way to help new players get up to speed with the rather daunting game.

Named after the starting region of Olvia, the Olvia Academy is a whole new campus built in the region where players, old and new alike, can enroll to and learn the basics in combat and life skills. Check the minimap to find the Olvia Academy and enroll in the two core tracks available that not only teaches you game mechanics, but also confers rewards that includes late game materials.

Completing these new introductory quests will reward players a special title as well as an Academia outfit.

You will need to have a Lv.60 character before enrolling, however. So this isn’t exactly for players who just made an account, but should help lapsed players or those struggling to figure out the game on their own some nudges in the right direction by following these new quests.

Olvia Academy is just one of the few new contents added in a recent game update. The monster zone Star’s End has also been revamped to and reimagined as “a fast-paced, field-style endgame zone.”

Black Desert is out now on PC and consoles.
