Babylon’s Fall Launches Worldwide March 2022

Babylon’s Fall, the new IP from Square Enix and PlatinumGames, now has a release date. The character-action game with loot and co-op multiplayer had quite the wild ride in terms of fan reception, from extreme excitement (another team-up of this publisher-developer after Nier Automata!) to extremely worrying (the E3 2021 trailer for the game… doesn’t look good).

It looks like it’s ready to launch soon, as a new trailer (a good one this time) revealed at The Game Awards have shown a release date, and some new gameplay to boot.

Babylon’s Fall has you take up the roles of sentinels to take on the Tower Of Babylon. You can use two weapons equipped to your two hands, or use more through the power of the Gideon Coffin which lets you equip two more. It’s those Stand-like powers, like what was seen in Platinum’s previous game Astral Chain.

Players will collect equipment along the climb (some of them will be assets from the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV). Square Enix also promises post-launch updates including new game modes, story content and new weapon types, as free updates.

Babylon’s Fall will be out on March 3 for the PS4, PS5 and PC (Steam). Digital Deluxe versions will include early access to play it from February 28.
