Avowed Releasing In 2024, New Trailer Shows Gameplay

Avowed, Obsidian’s upcoming first-person RPG set in the Pillars Of Eternity universe gets a new trailer revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023. And it looks like this is the next game the studio will be shipping out soon.

The new trailer shows more gameplay, where you use an arsenal of weaponry from swords, magic and even guns, facing various kinds of adversaries. You can mix and match different weapons on each arm- an axe on one and a magic spell on another.

Avowed is set in the Living Lands, a wild island that is hit by a plague in the world of Eora.

The character you see talking to the camera in the trailer, as the Xbox Wire post revealed, is Kai, your first companion of many available.

There’s a little bit of Elder Scrolls seen here, which is no surprise. It’s also like that in the first reveal trailer.

The follow-up to Skyrim will be a long, long wait considering Bethesda Game Studios is just wrapping up the development of Starfield, so Avowed might scratch that itch for a fantasy adventure. It helps that the lore of Pillars Of Eternity is already firmly established, so fans of the CRPG games should have a reason to try out Avowed.

Avowed is expected to release in 2024, coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store). It will also be available on Game Pass day-1 of release.
