Asphalt 9 The First Game To Feature The New Lamborghini Revuelto

March 30 saw the reveal of Lamborghini’s latest flagship supercar, the Lamborghini Revuelto. And interestingly, it’s already in a video game: in Asphalt 9.

From now until April 27, Asphalt 9: Legends is having a limited-time event where you can add the Lamborghini Revuelto to your collection by just completing the first stage. Further stages unlock more liveries, other in-game rewards and “surprise real-world prizes supplied by Lamborghini”.

The new Lamborghini Revuelto succeeds the outgoing Aventador as the Italian marque’s flagship car. And it’s also the turning point of electrification. The Revuelto still has a V12 engine like all the big bull Lambos do, but it’s also a plug-in hybrid and the last to have an internal combustion engine.

“The launch of a new flagship Lamborghini is always an exciting time for car lovers around the world. We couldn’t be more excited by yesterday’s announcement since we’ve also been able to launch a digital version of the Lamborghini Revuelto in Asphalt 9: Legends,” said Ignacio Marín, Asphalt 9: Legends Game Manager at Gameloft Barcelona.

“Our longstanding partnership with the company gave us unprecedented access to internal documentation to prepare for this reveal, and we’re confident players are going to love getting behind the digital wheel of this incredible – and faithfully recreated – vehicle.”

Real-world cars appearing in games is a long-running practice. Not all gamers will ever buy these exclusive pieces of art and engineering but the more people are aware of them and care about them, the more valuable the brand will be which in turn will attract the big spenders to purchase one or two for their collection. Like how whales sustain the free-to-play game ecosystem.

But the real point of this news story is how Gameloft’s Asphalt series is up there with Gran Turismo, Forza and other racing game series as they too are able to secure exclusive deals like this.

Asphalt 9: Legends is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play, Samsung Store, Huawei Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, and Xbox in the latest game update. The Switch version of Asphalt 9 doesn’t have the Revuelto yet, but will be coming at a later date.
