Armored Core VI Fires Of Rubicon Releasing This August

Ravens and Lynx, the time to get back in the robot is near. Bandai Namco announced the release date for Armored Core VI Fires Of Rubicon.

The announcement comes with a new gameplay trailer, showing off the many different Armored Cores, the mechas you pilot, that you can build. The usual bipedals, quad-legs, tank-mechs, reverse joint legs for leg options (usual for fans of the 3rd generation Armored Core games, from Armored Core III to Last Raven) are here. Laser blades and other usual armaments are seen, but also new ones.

What’s going to pique the interest of old-school AC fans and newcomers alike is how massively detailed the lands of Rubicon 3 are. And while it’s clear that developer FromSoftware has made that Armored Core is Armored Core and not a soulslike, the trailer sure is edited in a way to give that same mystique the Dark Souls series and Elden Ring has. Even the vague dialogue gives that vibe.

In AC VI, players assume the role of an independent mercenary infiltrating Rubicon 3, a planet where various corporations and factions are fighting over control of Coral, a mysterious new energy substance. Coral can be an energy source, or a source of destruction as a catastrophe happened 50 years ago that created “the Burning Star System” where nearby planets and stars were surrounded by flames and storms, hence the desolate atmosphere we see in the game.

Armored Core VI Fires Of Rubicon will be overboosting to release on August 25 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
