AMD 3rd-Gen (Zen 2) Ryzen 3 Desktop CPUs Coming In May, Starting At RM449

AMD has revealed two new Ryzen desktop CPUs available soon in Malaysia. The AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 330X CPUs marks the first of the 3rd-gen Ryzen 3, utilizing the current Zen 2 architecture.

These are quad-core, eight-thread CPUs can be overclocked, and as expected from the Ryzen 3 designation, the entry-level of the latest Zen 2 CPUs. Which also means these are the cheapest of the current Ryzen lineup.

These chips will be available worldwide starting May 21st.

Here are the specs, and price for the Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X:

AMD Ryzen 3 3100

Alongside this is the announcement of a new B550 chipset. This new motherboard, which uses the AM4 socket, supports the new PCIe 4.0, which helps CPU performance.

Expect to see new motherboards by ODM partners including ASRock, ASUS, Biostar, Colorful, GIGABYTE, and MSI be on sale starting June 16th.
