Amazon Opening New Studio Headed By Former Rainbow Six Siege Devs

Amazon announced that they are forming a new game studio in Montreal. The team well be led by Luc Bouchard, Xavier Marquis, Alexandre Remy, and Romain Rimokh. All being former Ubisoft employees and have worked on the now-successful multiplayer FPS game Rainbow Six Siege.

The new Montreal studio joins as part of Amazon Game development studios which has three other studios running in Seattle, Orange County, and San Diego, USA.

“Building upon 8 years of experience with Siege, we are excited to start with a blank page and the creative freedom to create a completely unique experience in the multiplayer space,” said Xavier Marquis, Creative Director.

Amazon has dabbled with making AAA video games, but the corporate giant’s best release yet is an unremarkable (although fun) TV show tie-in for a car show. Their latest release was Crucible, which got released, un-released then cancelled.

They still have have one new game coming, the MMO New World. And with the announcement of this new Montreal studio, Amazon is still not giving up on making their own big hit success in gaming despite its failures so far. Unlike some other corporate giant that have thrown in the towel.
