Wargroove is a strategy game developed by Chucklefish and it now has a release date. Announced on the Indie Highlights showcase by Nintendo Europe, the game is now available for pre-orders on Nintendo Switch.
Wargroove looks a lot like another Nintendo strategy game, Advance Wars. And it plays like it too. Battles are turn-based and you will see 2D animation in a pop-up window when a battle commences.
There are four factions each with different Commanders to choose from. These Commanders also have special ‘groove’ abilities to give them an upper hand in battle.
There’s a proper campaign mode that tells you the story of each of the factions, multiplayer up to 4 players, and also a map and campaign editor. You can design cutscenes and story branches for the campaigns and then share it online.

Wargroove will be out on February 1st for PC (Steam), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It will eventually be released on PS4 but at a later date.
