Acer are among the many OEMs announcing new laptops powered by the new Intel Core Ultra CPU. The first Acer Predator gaming laptop to be powered by the new chip under the Meteor Lake platform is the Predator Triton Neo 16.
The Predator Triton Neo 16 comes equipped with the new Intel Core Ultra processor (now with a built-in “AI acceleration capabilities”) alongside the currently latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs (up to an RTX 4070).
The Triton Neo 16, not to be confused with the Triton 14 or the Triton 17 X, has a 16-inch 16:10 display which can go up to “3.2K” resolution (likely QHD+, 3200×1800) at 165Hz refresh rate.
The laptop is also an Nvidia Studio-validated laptop, so it can be used by creators working on high-end creative software. The display also supports DCI-P3 100% colour gamut for that.
The Predator Triton, compared to the Predator Helios, are the slimmer, sleeker gaming laptops that would appeal more to professionals than to gamers. The Triton Neo 16 continues that trend with its chassis design.
Like all Predator laptops, the Predator Neo 16 has the latest 5th-gen Aeroblade 3D fan for cooling. It also uses liquid metal thermal grease and vector heat pipes for cooling.
Other features the laptop includes are the latest Predator Sense app at version 5.0, Acer Purified Voice 2.0 tech for clearer voice calls, and a Micro SD slot.
The Predator Triton Neo 16 will be available in North America and the EMEA regions by March 2024. No word on the availability of the laptop here in Malaysia yet, but expect to hear news of it early next year.
